Papaya Halwa – பப்பாளி அல்வா
Ingredients
- Papaya – 1
- Sugar – 400g
- Cardamom – 6
- Cashew nuts – 30
- Raisins – 8
- Ghee – Required

How to Prepare
Total Preparation Time: 20-30 minutes
- Cut the Papaya, remove seeds, pith, remove skin and grind it a thick smooth paste and add some water beat like a thin juice, filter it and keep aside
- Heat a pan with ghee, fry cashew nuts, raisins, cardamom for 2 minutes and keep aside
- And heat a heavy bottomed pan with 2 tbsp ghee and then papaya water
- And stir it continusly till it become thinker it may takes 20 to 30 minutes and then add sugar and mix it well
- After that add ghee fried raisin, cashew nuts, cardamom and mix it well for 3 minutes
- Then add 2 tbsp ghee and mix it well and stir till the ghee comes from the halwa this may take 30 minutes
- Stir it very well to avoid burnt bottom and once it become thicker, thick gooey, non sticky and this is the perfect halwa consistency
- Turn off the flame and transfer it into a bowl
- Now the tasty Papaya halwa is ready for serve
