Jaggery Kolakattai – கருப்பட்டி கொழுக்கட்டை


Ingredients

  • Rice – 250g
  • Jaggery – 200g
  • Coconut – 1
  • Cardamom – 3
  • Ghee – Required
  • Salt – Required
  • Oil – Required

How to Prepare

Total Preparation Time: 20-30 minutes

  1. Dry roast rice, make it cool and grind them like a powder, grate coconut, grate cardamom and keep them aside separately
  2. Dissolve the jaggery in water, filter it and make like a syrup and keep aside
  3. Heat a pan, add jaggery syrup, and make it boil for 2 minutes
  4. Then add coconut, cardamom powder, 1 tsp ghee and mix it well
  5. Add roasted rice powder into the dal and mix it well till become thick dough
  6. After that turn off the flame, and allow them to cool for 5 minutes, not cool completely it should be in little warm
  7. Grease your palm with oil and take a small portion from the dough
  8. Make a oval shaped sphere using your hand like a kolukkatai
  9. Take a idli steamer vessel, you can use any steamer, add water and boils it for 10 minutes
  10. Then place vessel and white cloth, then place the prepared kolukkattai, and close the steamer vessel
  11. Allow them cook in steam for 10 minutes and finally move into a plate
  12. Now the Sweet Jaggery Kolukattai is ready for serve
